In 2015, the Parish Council entered the North West in Bloom competition for the 9th year running. NWIB judges from the Royal Horticultural Society visited Clayton-le-Woods in July and assessed the floral displays and overall cleanliness of the area. 

Cllr. Eileen Whiteford said:

“We were awarded a Silver Gilt Certificate for our efforts and the judges were particularly impressed with the wild flower meadow and the quality of the hanging baskets. The Parish Council would like to encourage residents and local businesses to beautify their property again this year with planting displays and hanging baskets.”
