Volunteer Weekly Litterpick on 5th November 2024

7th of November, 2024

A fantastic turn out for this week’s community litter pick of the Clayton and Whittle War Memorial and surrounding area in preparation of this Sunday’s Remembrance service.

An enormous amount of litter was collected mostly from the car park including dozens of nearly full water bottles. I’m not sure why all of these large water bottles are being thrown away and they are all branded Co-Op. Please dispose of them in the bins provided and not chuck them into the bushes of the War Memorial which is highly disrespectful as well as being anti-social.

A huge thank you to our team of volunteers this week who were Liz Howarth, Julie Stewart, Judith Seed, Lilian Oldham, Jim Oldham, Martin Manley, Tracy Morris, Cllr David Cook, Cllr Steve Maddock and Cllr Mark Clifford.

Next week on Tuesday 12th November 2024 between 1pm -2pm we will be meeting in the car park of the Ley Inn on Back Lane. We hope to see you there. All equipment is provided just dress appropriately for the weather.
