Weekly Litterpick Tomorrow 11th August 2026 - 1pm Corner Great Greens Lane Clayton Brook Road

Another scorcher last week. Together we collected 7 bags of litter from around Pendle Road shops, Wigan Road and Lancaster Lane. 
A special mention goes to Martin, who filled two full bags on his own between the traffic lights at the Woodsman and Tracey’s Garage along Wigan Road – a proper Herculean effort! 
This week’s finds included a long-handled brush, a wing mirror and, of course, a wheel trim (why is there always a wheel trim?! 
).
A huge thank you to Martin Manley, Kim Chard, Cllr Michelle Beach, Cllr Michelle Brown and Cllr Neville Whitham for all their hard work. And an extra special thank you to Craig and Lyndsey at Woodsman for the complimentary refreshments afterwards – they were very much appreciated in the heat! 
- Next week’s litter pick: Great Greens Lane (Clayton Brook Road end); from there we’ll work our way down through Tramway Lane, which is looking particularly bad at the moment.
